Science A 2 Z Welcome to Science A 2 Z...

This website is devoted to scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and support of these skills in education.

My research includes the ambulatory biomechanics and morphological evolutionary relationships of the superorder Xenarthra (ground and tree sloths, armadillos, pampatheres, glyptodons, and anteaters).  In addition, I am researching how students between 3rd-8th grade understand science.

Teachers, on the left menu bar, you will find a new entry: We Are SVP.  SVP is the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, a professional society of paleontologists (and interested amatures) from around the world, working on bony fish, dinosaurs (and birds), amphibians, sharks, mammals, and jawless fish - all the vertebrate groups.  We (I am a member) have produced a DVD for educational purposes on what vertebrate paleontologists do and how we impact our society.  If you would like to borrow this copy (free), you will find the information for obtaining one on loan.

When I first designed my website, I had specific ideas for its organization.  The website has grown, and that initial organization no longer makes much sense.  I will be working on its redesign to something that will make it easier to locate the inquiry materials, etc.  During this time, if you find a broken link, please let me know (use "contact us" on the left menu bar).  Thank you.
